The july 16 is here to raise the bar for the creative world and integrate its spirit into the culture at large. We intend to exhibit creativity and showcase talent with an approach never seen before.

We select the few ones who can truly package yesterday with today and the superficial with the thought provoking. We are here to initiate and support artistic and cultural processes, to make them take place.

Yes, but Less!

Curated by Daria Irincheeva

Apt 16 Art Space

NJ

Curator and participant of exhibitions "Yes but less" Daria Irincheeva
presents her latest series of embroideries on paper. These continent-like pieces of old, torn, embroidered stock, rich in topography, and the tectonics of thoughts and memories, levitate off of solid blocks of concrete, the sharp needles that sustain them forcing the question of the eventual continuation, or end of existence.

The Propeller Group opened their debut solo exhibition in the United States at Lombard Freid. Reinvigorating a once-famous Leninist slogan, Lived, Lives, Will Live!, the group's new works are part of a larger practice exploring the relationships between politics, celebrity culture, and collective histories.

featuring Head and Shoulders Shampoo

Expo 1: New York
MoMA PS1

Chinese model Wu Ting Ting lip syncs to an opaque cover of Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” while wearing a sequined gown emblazoned with a deliberately misspelled shampoo logo in this new video from Shanzhai Biennial. The New York-based artist trio, comprised of Cyril Duval, Babak Radboy and stylist Avena Gallagher, has described itself as a “multinational brand posing as an art-project posing as an multinational brand posing as a biennial.”

Protey Temen

Black and White Exhibition

NLB Avla Gallery

16 May 2013 — 12 September

LJUBLIANA ✌

_splet_body_ospirit-wisdom

Extremes such as body and spirit, artificial and natural, real and abstract are confronted in Temen's work, producing a spark in their collision. The dialogue between these two extremes grows by itself, and is compared by the author to “growing flesh on the carcass”. That carcass becomes a framework, peeped in the environment, taken out of context.

beautiful

steps

7052013104338

Beautiful steps — the series features different sets of stairs in unusual locations and positions. In ‘beautiful steps #4’ a wide spiral stair case is suspended from the ceiling so that is floats in the air, while ‘beautiful steps #5’ features a stairway that leads out a window and around the building into another window. Their iconic design and unusual placement make each piece feel completely surreal.

The transformed space of the gallery becomes the stage for the new sculptures by Ugo Rondinone: 34 bronze-cast figures of horses individual in their forms and sizes. The plywood flooring spreads across the rooms of the gallery, uniting the space and introducing an active natural element into the white-cube environment.

presentation

at KUNSTHAUS BREGENZ

27 April–30 June 2013

Wade Guyton and Kelley Walker make use of found signs and images, which they transfer to canvas or wood panels as ink-jet or screen prints or transform into sculptures and installations. The duo often develops paintings, objects, and installations that play with an impression of provisionality, chaos, the unfinished.
